Phase Change Materials (PCMs) operate by utilizing their unique ability to undergo a phase transition, typically in our products, from solid to liquid or vice versa, during which they absorb or release a significant amount of latent heat energy. Incorporated into building materials, PCMs play a crucial role in regulating temperature by absorbing excess heat during warm periods and releasing it when temperatures decrease. This phase transition occurs at a specific temperature, customised to the application and is known as the melting or freezing point. PCMs act as thermal batteries, offering a passive and sustainable way to store and release energy, thereby improving energy efficiency, reducing temperature fluctuations, and enhancing thermal comfort in various applications, from buildings to electronic devices.
